Leadership Oakland alums gave a nod to an online alumni directory as the most desired new membership benefit, according to the results of the LOAA Fall 2020 Survey.

Survey participants also indicated a strong interest in nonprofit board matching, discounts to association events, and free admission to the popular annual Holiday Happy Hour. 

Alumni are also keenly interested in continued learning and development opportunities, with 84 percent of respondents desiring workshops focused on leadership, civic and professional development, or current trends. More than two-thirds are interested in networking events, information on leadership opportunities, and panel discussions. 

The LOAA Board is using the survey results to craft a new membership package to be introduced in early 2021.

In addition to assessing membership benefit preferences, the survey also sought to determine preferred enrichment activities and identify alumni interested in engaging in LOAA committees and ad hoc activities. Board members are in the process of contacting interested alumni who expressed interested in getting more involved with the organization.

Seventy-five alumni representing 20 cohorts provided feedback via the online survey over a two-week period in November.

It's been anything but a normal year, but that didn't stop our alumni from stepping up to volunteer for the City of Oakland Annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Our team masked up and safely packed 3,000 meals (that's not a typo!) to be delivered to those in need across our community. Watch our video to see us in action!
